GHD has a great opportunity for an Environmental Geoscientist / Engineering / Scientist Graduate, with a focus in contaminated site management to support our Ontario team! Our hiring team, based in Ontario’s Greater Toronto Area, specializes in environmental investigations, risk assessments, excess soil management, and remedial design and implementation for public and private sector clients across Canada and the US. Requirements

  • B.Sc., B. Eng, B.A.Sc. in geoscience, environmental science, civil/environmental engineering, science, or relevant discipline relevant to environmental site assessment or remediation
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report writing skills
  • This role includes travel and extended fieldwork, including full days outdoors year-round. We can discuss reasonable accommodations for essential duties.”
  • Strong English writing and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Class G driver's license (a MVR check will be performed prior to hire)
  • Reliable transportation to reach project sites is required
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to follow through on commitments
  • Strong ability to problem solve and to think analytically/logically
  • Attention to Health and Safety
  • 0-3+ years-experience

Nice To Haves

  • Eligibility of P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation considered an asset
  • Experience in construction/contracts considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support a wide range of environmental projects
  • Complete field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations, monitoring, and remediation activities, which may include drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, remediation, vapour sampling, construction and demolition oversight, etc.
  • Assist in project set up, coordination, work plan development, data assessment, and reporting activities
  • Collaborate with a variety of project teams and build relationships with our GHD network, contractors, and clients
  • Be supported with staff mentorship and GHD technical and health and safety training programs
  • Be expected to integrate technology into learning and execution of tasks
