This internship offers motivated environmental engineering/science interns the chance to work alongside expert teams in our Butte and Anaconda offices. Interns will shadow experienced engineers/scientists and participate as members of project teams, contributing to actual project design or field oversight. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply classroom learning through experience-based learning, focusing on environmental field monitoring and sampling of soils, groundwater, and surface water, assisting in data compilations and evaluations, data collection, and reporting. Interns will also assist office and project personnel in preparing reports and submittals. This is an excellent experience for individuals looking to begin their career in the environmental industry. Requirements

  • Second or third-year Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences student
  • Specific classes taken should include a mix of the following: Surface Water Hydrology, Wastewater Treatment, Stormwater Design and hydraulics, Soils, Fluid Mechanics, Water Quality Chemistry, Groundwater Geology, Environmental Geochemistry, ArcGIS, and Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD)
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in site/civil engineering design, groundwater collection and treatment, site remediation, and compliance
  • Proficiency in CADD and/or ArcGIS
  • Completion of OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPPER certification course
  • Prior field experience

Responsibilities

  • Environmental field monitoring and sampling of soils, groundwater, and surface water
  • Assisting in data compilations and evaluations
  • Data collection and reporting
  • Assisting office and project personnel in the preparation of reports and submittals
  • Shadowing experienced engineers/scientists

  • Possible experience in various sampling and monitoring methods for soils, sediments, water, and air
