The Environmental/Energy Manager ensures Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Installation Environmental Management System (EMS), the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting this contract. The position manages environmental and industrial regulatory compliance for one or multiple facilities at NSA Annapolis, Maryland, including the United States Naval Academy. Manages development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies; develops procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety) used throughout the program. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies, coordinated through the Contracting Officer and the installation environmental office. Manages licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal and monitors waste handling. Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. May be the point of contact for emergency personnel and manage workers compensation program administration. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
