About The Position

As a key member of GFL’s dynamic team, the Compliance Coordinator will provide support to our Fleet and Operations groups. The Compliance Coordinator will possess exceptional communication skills while having the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This position requires an enthusiastic individual who presents a professional demeanor and a positive attitude with very high attention to detail. Requirements

  • Chemical or Environmental Degree, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Awareness and understanding of waste management, RCRA, is an asset
  • Ability to work in an office and warehouse environment
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

  • Sample inbound material, conduct screening analysis, record results
  • Completion of hazardous waste manifests and cross border shipments
  • Ensure accurate data entry
  • Operate indoor forklift
  • Unloading, loading, and labelling of hazardous waste
  • Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment
  • Communicate and liaise with customers and vendors
  • Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
  • Respond to emergencies and help with spills clean-up, if necessary
  • Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable Regulations
  • Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
  • Some overtime required
  • Other duties as requested by Manager
