About The Position

Parsons is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Inspector Manager for the Gateway Program. This role involves reviewing construction work plans, reporting on compliance with environmental permitting requirements, and performing field audits. The Gateway Program is a critical infrastructure initiative focused on improving rail services and capacity between Newark, New Jersey, and New York City, with the first phase including the Hudson Tunnel Project. The Environmental Compliance Field Inspector Manager will provide oversight of construction related to environmental compliance and interpret scientific data and specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology or a closely related discipline
  • 10-15+ years of prior experience performing construction site inspections
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel throughout the NY/NJ Metro Area
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing environmental inspections in and for NY, NJ and/or NYC agencies
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and current refreshers)

Responsibilities

  • Perform field audits of environmental documentation and field activities
  • Review and prepare written technical reports documenting environmental construction compliance
  • Report inconsistencies, environmental permitting requirements and contract specifications to the environmental compliance team
  • Provide oversight of construction as it relates to environmental compliance
  • Ability to interpret scientific data and specifications
