About The Position
Parsons is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Inspector to support the Gateway Project. The role involves reviewing construction work plans and regularly reporting on compliance with environmental permitting requirements. The position supports the Gateway Program, including the Hudson Tunnel Project, which will build a new two-track tunnel beneath the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York and rehabilitate the existing North River Tunnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or a closely related discipline.
- 10–15+ years of prior experience performing construction site inspections.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the NY/NJ Metro Area.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience providing environmental inspections in and for NY, NJ, and/or NYC agencies.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current refreshers.
Responsibilities
- Perform field audits of environmental documentation and field activities.
- Review and prepare written technical reports documenting environmental construction compliance.
- Report inconsistencies, environmental permitting requirements, and contract specifications to the environmental compliance team.
- Provide oversight of construction as it relates to environmental compliance.
- Interpret scientific data and specifications.
