Entry Level Mechanic - 3rd Shift
About The Position
The Entry Level Mechanic works at Conagra Brands’ Macon, Missouri facility and reports to the on-site Maintenance Supervisor. The role maintains and repairs plant and production equipment, including troubleshooting, inspecting, adjusting, and testing machinery and its components. Work includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and fabrication tasks, using equipment manuals and diagrams as well as hand and power tools. The schedule is 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The position may involve working seven days a week and extended shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of progressive mechanic experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Vocational technical training in machine maintenance.
- Ability to carry and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to read and write English to complete production and quality documents.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
- Familiarity with and ability to use basic shop equipment, an electric arc welder, plasma cutter, torch, and basic hand tools.
- Electrical experience.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts and components on plant and production equipment.
- Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order.
- Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make adjustments to support production operations.
- Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, and parts diagrams to troubleshoot equipment.
- Use hand and power tools to perform equipment repair and testing.
- Perform electrical and pneumatic work on production machines.
- Perform welding and fabrication work.
