Water Park Entry Level Maintenance Technician
About The Position
This is an entry-level seasonal maintenance position at Rapids Waterpark. The technician performs daily pre-opening safety inspections of slides and attractions, responds to attraction shutdowns during park operations, and helps return attractions safely to service. The role also includes general facility upkeep, pool cleaning and water testing, completing maintenance tasks and projects, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and employees. The technician assists customers with questions about the park, its layout, and amenities, and follows park policies and procedures. The work takes place outdoors and may involve extreme weather conditions, long days, varied hours, weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of proper usage of tools and equipment.
- Swimming ability required.
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision and work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and staff.
- Ability to remain attentive and work well with others.
- Energy and enthusiasm for long days.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions while taking precautions, including hydration and sun protection.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, walk, reach above the shoulder, push, and pull.
- Manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 to 70 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally carry up to 100 pounds with assistance from a two-wheel hand truck.
Nice To Haves
- Basic trade experience in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or electrical work.
- Pool experience.
- AFO or CPO certification.
