About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Spring, Texas. The role is part of Intertek’s Building and Construction division and offers an opportunity to develop a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry. The Field Technician performs testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or by following detailed controlled procedures. The position includes testing construction materials such as soil and concrete and reporting and documenting results.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally handle over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and distinguish sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
Ability to work overnight hours and off shift.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of experience in construction materials or density testing.
ACI Certification.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct tests, such as soil and concrete testing, and report assessments of the data.
Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Follow specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
