About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician for its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Spring, Texas. The role supports construction materials testing within the architectural, engineering, and construction industry. Under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures, the technician performs testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments. The work includes testing materials such as soil and concrete, assessing and reporting data, using project drawings and specifications, and documenting test results. The position requires outdoor field work, including work in adverse weather, at various heights, and during off-shift or overnight hours as needed.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discriminate among sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
Ability to work overnight hours and off shift.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of experience in construction materials or density testing.
ACI Certification.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct tests on soil, concrete, and other materials.
Assess testing data and prepare reports.
Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Apply specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
