About The Position

Sunbelt Fire is seeking an entry-level Service Technician for its Fairhope, Alabama branch. The technician will help serve customers in Central and South Alabama and Mississippi by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire apparatus and related equipment. Work may include aerial lifts and telescopic ladder systems, high-output pumps and flow systems, electrical and hydraulic systems, structural weldments, drivetrain and suspension systems, annual service and inspections, welding, and fabrication. The role is suited to someone who is willing to learn and develop a career. Overnight stays may be expected depending on job location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and braking systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting work performed and parts used.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably at least one year of relevant experience in heavy truck or emergency vehicle repair.
• Knowledge of fire apparatus systems, including pumps, hoses, valves, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fire apparatus and related equipment.
• Provide pump testing for fire apparatus.
• Repair or replace defective components, such as pumps, hoses, valves, and electrical systems.
• Test and calibrate fire apparatus systems to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, including lubrication, fluid changes, and filter replacements.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment serviced.
• Stay up to date with advancements in fire apparatus technology and industry standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to optimize maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during repair and maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
