About The Position

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited is seeking an Entrepreneurship Coordinator to support the delivery of the Entrepreneurship Program established under the Impact Benefit Agreement with the Tahltan Central Government. This role, while employed by Skeena, serves as a dedicated resource for Tahltan Members and Tahltan Businesses, facilitating their access to contracting and business opportunities at the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. The position plays a key support function in meeting program governance, reporting, and accountability commitments, aiming to foster Tahltan economic self-determination and ensure meaningful, lasting economic benefit from the Project.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Indigenous economic development, small business support, entrepreneurship programming, or a related field, ideally within a resource or industrial sector context.
A genuine commitment to cultural humility and a willingness to learn and work within Tahltan ways of doing including respect for Tahltan governance structures, protocols, and the priorities of the Nation is essential to success in this role.
Demonstrated attention to detail and experience working within reporting, governance, or compliance-driven environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting Indigenous communities or businesses in building capacity and accessing economic opportunities.
Familiarity with small business finance, micro-credit lending principles, and business development fundamentals.
Experience planning and facilitating workshops, training sessions, or community events.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable working with data tracking and reporting tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a proven ability to build trust-based relationships with Indigenous community members and business stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to travel within Tahltan Territory and to project sites as required.
Demonstrated ability to act impartially and manage real or perceived conflicts of interest in a governed contracting environment.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary education in business administration, Indigenous economic development, entrepreneurship, social sciences, or a related discipline preferred.
Training or certification in small business development, financial literacy, or adult education is considered an asset.
Direct knowledge of or experience with the Tahltan Nation is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

Administer the Entrepreneurship Program and micro-credit fund, including reviewing funding applications, tracking loans and repayments, and maintaining accurate program records.
Monitor program budgets and expenditures in alignment with approved annual plans, and prepare regular updates for the Contracting Team.
Develop and maintain resources, policies, and tools that support consistent and transparent program delivery.
Ensure program delivery, financial administration, and record-keeping are conducted in compliance with the Impact Benefit Agreement, approved governance frameworks, and applicable internal policies.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate annual business development workshops for Tahltan Businesses in Tahltan Territory, in partnership with the Contracting Team and TCG Employment and Business Department.
Deliver training initiatives that build Tahltan Business capacity in areas such as proposal writing, contractor pre-qualification, accessing capital, and understanding ECML’s contracting standards.
Engage subject matter experts and external facilitators to support high-quality programming, and capture and share outcomes with relevant stakeholders.
Serve as a trusted, accessible point of contact for Tahltan Members and Tahltan Businesses, providing guidance on Business Opportunities, pre-qualification, and ECML’s contracting processes in a manner that is welcoming, clear, and culturally respectful.
Support Tahltan Businesses in building the skills and qualifications needed to successfully bid on and perform Project Contracts.
Listen and engage with Tahltan entrepreneurs and community members to understand barriers to participation — bringing forward recommendations to the Contracting Team that reflect the realities and priorities of the Tahltan business community.
Track unsuccessful bids, analyze root causes, and use this information to inform annual work plans.
Work collaboratively with procurement, supply chain, and other internal teams to support integration of Tahltan Business participation across contracting processes.
Build and maintain effective relationships with Tahltan entrepreneurs, community organizations, and relevant external partners.
Support the Contracting Team in preparing clear, transparent updates on program progress and outcomes for the Tahltan Nation.
Maintain accurate records across all program activities, including fund utilization, workshop participation, and Tahltan Business engagement, to support internal oversight, IBA reporting, and requests from internal or external partners.
Support monitoring and reporting deliverables, including data entry in applicable tracking systems (e.g., Isometrix or equivalent).
Prepare accurate, timely, and defensible reporting to support Contracting Team oversight, internal approvals, and IBA reporting requirements.
Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical stewardship of Tahltan business, financial, and program information, consistent with Skeena policies, the Impact Benefit Agreement, and Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
Support the Project contracts inventory to be communicated annually per IBA requirements and proactively connect Tahltan businesses to opportunities.
Demonstrate and promote Tahltan principles, as identified in the IBA, into daily coordination and shared decision support processes.
Practice relational accountability through reciprocity, transparency, humility, and trust-building with Tahltan Leadership, Community, Tahltan members and ECML representatives.
Support culturally safe spaces and processes that balance Indigenous and Western governance approaches while honouring Tahltan protocols.
Perform all other related and general administrative duties as required.
