About The Position

Nationwide’s Enterprise Risk & Advanced Analytics (ERAA) team partners with business unit and corporate functions to help ensure that Nationwide’s risk profile is well understood, effectively managed, and its capital position is strong. Enterprise Risk Management functions include Investment Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Operational Risk Management, Risk & Capital Reporting, Enterprise Model Risk Management, Enterprise Risk & Capital Modeling, and the Enterprise Analytics Office, as well as matrixed relationships with Nationwide Financial and Property & Casualty Actuarial offices. The Enterprise Risk Management Intern will take part in a challenging learning experience, supported by associates, and gain experience in the financial services industry and risk management. The 12-week summer internship in Columbus, Ohio provides opportunities to learn about and work in areas such as model risk management, risk modeling, operational risk management, risk reporting, risk governance, and risk data and analytics. Interns are strongly considered for future full-time positions.

Requirements

Be pursuing a degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Business Administration, or Statistics, and be within 2–3 semesters of graduation.
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Have experiences demonstrating leadership qualities.
Have communication and analytical skills.
Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and critically.

Responsibilities

Gain experience in and learn about enterprise risk management functions, including model risk management, risk modeling, operational risk management, risk reporting, risk governance, and risk data and analytics.
