Microsoft is seeking a senior, customer-facing Enterprise Cloud Solution Architect for its Federal organization. The role requires broad and deep technical expertise across Azure workloads, including AI, data, applications, and infrastructure, along with the ability to program-manage complex, multi-workstream initiatives and communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders. The architect serves as a trusted advisor to government customers, helping shape cloud and AI strategy and guiding projects from strategy through implementation and operationalization. The position focuses on modernizing mission-critical government systems, responsible AI adoption, and secure, scalable cloud platforms that support long-term innovation and mission impact. Occasional overnight travel to customer locations is required. Microsoft prefers candidates in the Huntsville, Alabama; Colorado Springs, Colorado; or Washington, DC areas. The role ensures cloud solutions are deployed effectively and aligns architecture and delivery with customer business outcomes. It coordinates Microsoft, partner, and customer teams; manages dependencies, risks, and milestones; leads architectural design and implementation; removes blockers; and oversees high-quality, timely delivery. The architect also supports consumption and platform adoption, develops repeatable intellectual property, and helps customers realize measurable business value. As part of Microsoft Federal, the employee may serve in various roles across Civilian, Defense, or Intelligence community segments as government needs evolve. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a listed or related field, or equivalent experience, and at least four years of relevant experience or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include additional relevant experience, customer-facing and technical-project experience, and a cloud or security certification. The role requires passing Microsoft's Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter. U.S. citizenship verification is required due to applicable citizenship-based restrictions. The typical U.S. base pay range is $106,400–$203,600 per year. A separate range of $137,600–$222,600 per year applies to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area. The position will be open for at least five days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
