About The Position

veritree is an award-winning climate tech start-up based in Vancouver. Launched in 2021, our technology measures and verifies the impact of global restoration efforts from the ground up. We are on a mission to plant 1 billion verified trees by 2030, collaborating with businesses, planting organizations, and consumers who believe in the transformative power of verified restoration projects to create real and meaningful impact for the planet, nature, and people. As an Enterprise Business Development Representative at veritree, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging enterprise-level prospects who can benefit from investing in verified restoration initiatives. You are the first point of contact for high-value accounts, responsible for running strategic outbound outreach, booking qualified discovery meetings, and building pipeline for our sales team. This role is directly responsible for building the partnerships that fund verified restoration projects around the world. This role sits within the Enterprise BDR pod and reports to the Manager, Business Development.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or corporate partnerships, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Experience running outbound prospecting into enterprise or mid-market accounts.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and familiarity with modern sales-enablement and prospecting tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a natural, conversational tone.
  • Comfort using AI-powered research and outreach tools to improve prospecting efficiency and personalization.
  • Curious and resourceful — energized by learning about new industries and figuring out what makes a prospect tick.
  • Resilient and self-motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment where priorities evolve.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of accounts and outreach without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaborative team player who contributes to a positive, high-performance culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG, climate tech, social impact, or environmental work, such as restoration, ocean conservation, plastic cleanup, water stewardship, or similar initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying processes.
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, or Chinese dialects.

Responsibilities

  • Research and map enterprise accounts to identify champions and internal advocates who can connect you to the decision-maker overseeing sustainability or restoration initiatives.
  • Execute account-based, multi-threaded outbound sequences across email and LinkedIn, engaging multiple contacts within a single account to build internal momentum and navigate to the right stakeholder.
  • Personalize outreach with a collaborative, curiosity-driven tone, connecting with companies that are looking to deepen their positive impact.
  • Maintain a consistent daily cadence of quality outbound tasks aligned with team standards.
  • Identify and book qualified discovery meetings with enterprise accounts that fit our ideal customer profile, ensuring the right decision-maker or a direct introduction to them is confirmed before the meeting takes place.
  • Manage and progress leads through the pipeline, maintaining accurate records of all prospect interactions and opportunity stages in CRM.
  • Contribute to Runway pipeline conversion by supporting re-engagement of stalled enterprise opportunities with targeted outreach.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and RevOps to refine targeting, messaging, and campaign strategy for enterprise accounts.
  • Share prospect intelligence and market insights with the broader sales team to support deal strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Participate in team coaching, call reviews, and sequence optimization to continuously improve outbound quality.
  • Represent veritree at sustainability, social impact, and industry-specific events to build relationships, generate leads, and stay connected to the broader ecosystem.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, ESG regulations, competitor activity, and emerging enterprise segments relevant to veritree’s growth.
  • Apply market knowledge to improve prospecting strategy and deepen the relevance of outbound messaging.
