About The Position

As an Enrollment Technician with BCBSWY, you will ensure that member information is added and maintained on our system accurately and in a timely manner. This may include adding new members, processing terminations, and making updates to member demographic information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers. You will be a critical part of our dynamic team by becoming familiar with the eligibility rules across multiple types of business, as well as with applicable State and Federal guidelines pertaining to insurance membership. As a front-facing ambassador of BCBSWY, you will correspond in writing, via telephone, and through e-mail with salespeople, clients, vendors, other internal departments, and applicants regarding eligibility, incomplete applications/changes, and other enrollment questions. Additional accountabilities include processing HIPAA release of information forms, updating coordination of benefit details, ordering and validating member ID cards, logging returned mail, preparing documentation for scanning, and quality control of enrollment updates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of office experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal and contractual language.
  • Ability to use computers and associated software programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior insurance experience is preferred.
