About The Position

The Enrollment Counselor - Online Undergraduate is a representative of Southeastern University and is responsible for those areas relating to the recruiting, processing, and evaluation of applicants for admission with a specific focus on online students. Enrollment services may include, but are not limited to, community outreach, new student recruitment, communication regarding the specifics of SEU's online academic programs, explanation of financial aid processes, new student advising, and participation in promotional events. The Enrollment Counselor - Online Undergraduate will be responsible for making decisions on undergraduate admission to the university and must exercise discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis with respect to matters of significance for the university. Both extensive community engagement and daily office work are required for the position as they are necessary for the recruitment of prospective online students, evaluation of admission, and the enrollment of incoming student populations to the university.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing or other related degree
  • Experience in higher education admissions, sales, customer service, or related field.
  • Experience with adult or online related enrollment.
  • Experience with CRM recruitment or sales software.
  • Familiarity with analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, PowerBI reporting software, Salesforce CRM software, and/or Jenzabar SIS software.
  • Familiarity with SEU’s academic programming, student activities, online learning platforms, and other services and resources available to online students.
  • A thorough understanding of the policies and procedures for distributing student financial aid, along with financial literacy skills for managing expenses and reimbursements.
  • Knowledge of SEU's multicultural and religious diversity.
  • Effective personnel management techniques, as well as skills in project management, organization, and office management.
  • Awareness of the latest advances and effective methods in online higher education recruitment approaches, strategies, and tools.
  • Experience in guiding students through the online learning enrollment process, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, and utilizing data-driven analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a supportive and engaging online community that supports the university's enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing recruiting and admission strategies, utilizing effective sales techniques, and providing exceptional customer service to meet university enrollment targets.
  • Guiding prospective online undergraduate students through the enrollment funnel from inquiry to enrollment from their assigned territory.
  • Maintaining consistent communication via email, mail, texting, and phone calls, conducting informational and evaluative interviews, advising students on educational and career decisions, and building rapport with students, families, online educators, and SEU alumni.
  • Developing, planning, and implementing recruitment travel to establish pipelines, create networks, and facilitate the achievement of enrollment goals.
  • Managing, planning, and coordinating both on and off campus recruitment and engagement activities, exercising creativity and innovation.
  • Planning and executing engaging and informative virtual events to attract prospective online students.
  • Assisting in developing content for online marketing campaigns and webinars to support recruitment efforts.
  • Managing a caseload of up to 600 prospective online undergraduate students, maintaining up-to-date records of prospective students, tracking and reporting on recruitment efforts, and evaluating and processing student applications.
  • Conducting financial aid discussions and affordability conversations with students and their families.
  • Responsible for new student advising and registration, and directing incoming students to appropriate online campus resources for a smooth transition to SEU.
  • Managing and overseeing student workers, collaborating with office support staff, and providing feedback to the Director of Graduate and Online Enrollment on enrollment processes, suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assisting in developing and updating admission policies and procedures to ensure the enrollment process remains effective and compliant with institutional goals.
  • Serving as a liaison with SEU’s academic and student support departments directing matriculating students to appropriate campus resources to create a seamless transition to SEU.
