About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking passionate and motivated Enrolled Nurses to join our Emergency Department in Permanent Full-Time and Part-Time positions. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Previous Emergency Department experience or experience within a high-acuity hospital environment.
  • Strong clinical skills and sound nursing judgement within your scope of practice.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and effective in rapidly changing situations.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
  • A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress your nursing career.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of casual shifts across a 24/7 service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice under the direction of Registered Nurses.
  • Assist with patient assessments, monitoring and ongoing care planning.
  • Support the management of patients with acute, complex and urgent healthcare needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to patient flow, admissions, transfers and discharge planning processes.
  • Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring a positive care experience.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety and infection prevention initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
