About The Position

This is a register for casual and short-term fixed-term vacancies for Enrolled Nurses within the Statewide Mental Health Service. The service welcomes applications from Enrolled Nurses with experience or training in mental health, as well as those seeking a pathway into mental health or to broaden their current skills. Opportunities exist to work within a multi-disciplinary team with consumers across the lifespan in various settings including inpatient, respite, rehabilitation, and forensic. The Statewide Mental Health Service is growing and expanding its services, including the opening of integrated care hubs and new 24-hour community-based beds. This register is open until June 30, 2028, and inclusion does not guarantee employment.

Requirements

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines.
  • Core nursing skills.
  • Compassionate and empathic towards people in distress.
  • Interest in people from all walks of life and a non-judgemental attitude.
  • Great interpersonal skills including active listening.
  • Ability to remain calm and use de-escalation skills.
  • Sound general nursing skills.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks including conviction check, identification check, and disciplinary action in previous employment check.
  • Potential requirement for a current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
