About The Position

WHIN Music Community Charter School is a community-centered school built on the principles of El Sistema, combining rigorous academic instruction with intensive music education and a positive learning environment. Requirements

NYS or equivalent ELL, TESOL, or ESL teaching certification.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
Urban elementary teaching experience.
Demonstrated success raising achievement levels of all students.

Nice To Haves

Advanced proficiency in Spanish (also listed as a bilingual qualification).
Music performance.
Early Childhood teaching experience and/or certifications.

Experience with Responsive Classroom, Love & Logic Student Management, and Restorative Justice models.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a fun, engaging, and inclusive classroom culture where all students love to learn.
Provide integrated instruction in an inclusive classroom for all learners.
Develop and implement high-quality lesson plans accessible to learners’ needs.
Assess students’ ELL status on ATS, administer home language surveys, and conduct NYSITELL and NYSESLAT assessments when needed.
Analyze data, differentiate instruction, and support each learner’s unique needs to drive academic outcomes.
Collaborate with colleagues to implement an effective integrated co-teaching model in an inclusive classroom.
Support colleagues in their understanding of and work with ENL students.
Inspire students and fellow staff to perform at their highest potential.
Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with WHIN families.
