About The Position

This is a maternity leave position for an English/Language Arts Teacher at Oak Forest High School, serving as a temporary role from September 11, 2026, through December 22, 2026. The teacher will be responsible for planning, creating a positive classroom environment, delivering instruction, and fulfilling professional responsibilities.

Requirements

• A valid Illinois Type 09 certification.
• English/Language Arts endorsement.
• May also include Drama or Journalism.

Responsibilities

• Planning and Preparation: Demonstrates knowledge of content and pedagogy, knowledge of students, selects instructional goals, demonstrates knowledge of resources, designs coherent instruction, and assesses student learning.
• The Classroom Environment: Creates an environment of respect and rapport, establishes a culture for learning, manages classroom procedures, manages student behavior, and organizes physical space.
• Instruction: Communicates clearly and accurately, uses questioning and discussion techniques, engages students in learning, provides feedback to students, and demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness.
• Professional Responsibilities: Reflects on teaching, maintains accurate records, communicates with families, contributes to the school and district, grows and develops professionally, and shows professionalism.
