About The Position

Elk Grove High School is searching for an English/EL/Reading Teacher who thrives on engaging with students, both academically and in extracurricular activities. Requirements

  • State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Senior High endorsement in English is required.
  • Academically prepared to deliver compelling literature and composition courses.
  • Proven ability in educational planning, including establishing and assessing short and long-term goals.
  • A strong understanding and proven ability to implement modifications and accommodations in both resource and inclusion classroom settings.
  • Comfortable and capable of implementing a digital curriculum in a 1:1 iPad instructional environment.

Nice To Haves

  • ESL and/or reading endorsement preferred.
  • Demonstrates innovation and creativity, consistently setting high expectations for student achievement.
  • Committed to an interdisciplinary approach.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in course-alike groups and interdisciplinary planning teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on developing common assessments and enhancing current programs.
  • Work with a coordinated curriculum focused on preparing students for external assessments.
  • Implement a digital curriculum in a 1:1 iPad instructional environment.
  • Deliver compelling literature and composition courses.
  • Employ innovative instructional methods and adjust strategies based on assessment data to cater to individual student learning needs.
  • Implement modifications and accommodations in both resource and inclusion classroom settings.
  • Engage with students academically and in extracurricular activities.
