About The Position
Matthews Charter Academy is seeking an English Language Arts Teacher for 4th grade. Located in Matthews, North Carolina, Matthews Charter Academy opened in 2016 and serves students in grades K–8. The teacher will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to meet students’ goals and individual needs, create an engaging classroom conducive to learning, and use the school’s curriculum and resources to support student achievement. The role also involves using student data to inform instruction and participating in professional development and orientation activities.
Requirements
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements; National Heritage Academies will support the alternative certification journey.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate professionally with fellow teachers and support staff to meet each student’s goals and individual needs.
- Create, manage, and participate in professional development and orientation activities.
- Create an engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Use the provided curriculum and curricular resources in the classroom based on students’ needs.
- Analyze and use student data to inform teaching.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
