About The Position
The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is seeking to fill a teaching position. This role involves teaching English Language Arts for grades 7, 8, and 9, Social Studies for grades 7 and 8, and Citizenship for grade 9. The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The jurisdiction covers the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond in northeastern Nova Scotia.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment
