About The Position

The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is seeking qualified candidates for an English Language Arts & Mathematics teaching position at St Mary's Education Centre Academy. The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across four counties in northeastern Nova Scotia. Teachers hired into new positions may be required to participate in New Teacher training.

Requirements

• Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
• Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area at the appropriate level for the competition
• Excellent classroom and student management skills
• Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
• Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning is a requirement
• Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
• All employees must provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
