Hired adjuncts will teach and perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the course/s for the particular academic semester/term.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or 18+ graduate-level hours in the field is required
  • University teaching experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teaches one or more subjects within the Department for the course/s which you have been appointed to teach for the particular academic semester/term. These courses are typically Developmental Composition, Freshman Composition I, and/or Freshman Composition II
  • Prepares and delivers instruction to students in face-to-face format
  • Meets classes as scheduled, typically MWF or TTh
  • Compiles, administers, and grades examinations and other student learning assignments
  • Reports student attendance and grades electronically, via Brightspace or Gateway. Training to use these systems will be made available to the instructor
  • Assesses and reports student achievement validly and reliably
  • Communicates with students consistently and in a timely manner
