About The Position

The University of New Hampshire’s English Department invites applications for an Adjunct position in Fall 2026. This position will be asked to lead a section of ENGL 401 ‘First Year Writing’ during the fall 2026 semester (8/31/2026 – 12/14/2026). The University of New Hampshire is an R1 Carnegie classification research institution providing comprehensive, high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs of distinction. UNH is located in Durham on a 188-acre campus, 60 miles north of Boston and 8 miles from the Atlantic coast and is convenient to New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains. There is a student enrollment of 13,000 students, with a full-time faculty of over 600, offering 90 undergraduate and more than 70 graduate programs. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in English Literature, Composition or English Language study.
  • Teaching experience in English Composition.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one section of ENGL 401 ‘First Year Writing’
  • Hold office hours for student feedback meetings and individual advising as needed.
