About The Position

Astrion is hiring an Engineering Technician V to support engineering and testing activities at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The role supports Test Engineers with a range of military hardware testing and test-support work, including instrumentation, test setup and execution, equipment maintenance, and related technical activities. The position requires a Secret clearance and travel as needed.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 4 years of applicable college, vocational, military, or technical school and 5 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area.
• For instrumentation specialization: successful completion of 16 weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques.
• For instrumentation specialization: at least 6 years of experience in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
• Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support Test Engineers with various types of testing.
• Fabricate and machine parts for test support.
• Support Infrared Data Collection, UAS/CUAS, Target Vehicle Operations, Aircraft Survivability Equipment, sensors, lasers, radar, Force Protection Systems, and Integrated Base Defense activities.
• Assist with network installation and management, test setup, test execution, and test tear-down.
• Help develop requirements, procedures, and unique test methods.
• Support equipment maintenance and inventory.
