About The Position
Amentum is seeking an experienced Senior Submarine LAN technician to provide full-time support to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in Norfolk, Virginia. The position provides technical assistance and hands-on support for submarine LAN and other computer equipment, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, recommending corrective solutions, supporting modernization, and helping ship crews maintain and operate systems. The role also assists with LAN transitions and grooms, crew training, and identifying failed components and replacement parts.
Requirements
- Three years of full-time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of submarine electronics systems and equipment.
- Experience evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective actions.
- Five years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, testing, or repair of electronics systems and equipment.
- Prior Submarine/Navy LAN administration experience.
- Active U.S. government Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to maintain the clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance with software- and hardware-related issues.
- Recommend solutions to ship's force for equipment- and software-related failures.
- Provide hands-on technical support to ship's force as necessary.
- Train crew members during assistance and assessment visits.
- Assist with SubLAN modernization efforts.
- Identify failed components and assist in obtaining replacement parts as necessary.
- Support non-SubLAN laptops and workstations.
- Assist with LAN transitions and grooms.
