About The Position

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort is seeking an Engineering Technician Level I to perform maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment. This role ensures a continuous source of light, heat, water, electrical power, and temperature control. The technician will also recommend necessary changes to facilities or equipment and provide support to all departments as directed by the department manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school or GED required.
  • Three years of technical experience in an industrial, commercial, institutional, automotive, or construction environment OR Associates Degree (technical) or trade diploma in a technical field from an accredited educational institution and one year of experience in technical maintenance required.
  • Valid driver’s license with no suspended, denied, or revoked driver’s license within the last 3 years required.
  • Must demonstrate basic understanding of electrical distribution systems (three phase and single phase, up to 600 volts).
  • Must demonstrate basic understanding of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) operation, including basic theory of operation and controls.
  • Ability to use basic test equipment including, but not limited to, multi-meters, temperature probes, and circuit tracers.
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and surrounding property.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items.
  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including second hand smoke.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs using computerized maintenance programs.
  • Abide by safety policies and report safety hazards to the department manager.
  • Participate as a team member by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions.
  • Respond to emergency and critical situations.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner.
  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values.
