About The Position

Responsible for dealing table games as assigned in order to provide a courteous and entertaining experience for Harrah’s Cherokee Casino guests. This role involves establishing and endorsing business objectives, ethics, and values, dealing one or more games to provide guests with courteous and accurate service, and promoting an entertaining environment while maintaining department standards of games productivity. The dealer will also provide gaming instructions to guests, demonstrate superior customer service skills, maintain an upbeat and positive attitude, and create positive energy with gestures and sustained enthusiasm. Key responsibilities include initiating conversations with guests, building relationships, handling money, counting cash, exchanging it for table chips, and possessing a thorough working knowledge of all casino games certified to deal. The dealer must also document knowledge of department policies and procedures, including Federal and Regulatory laws, check for guest satisfaction, resolve service breakdowns, exercise discretion in identifying situations requiring management attention, provide game protection, and report suspicious activity. Additionally, the role involves promoting Caesars Rewards programs, creating an atmosphere of luck, celebrating guest wins, providing a warm farewell, and adhering to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures in an ethical manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must possess a certificate of completion from an accredited Dealers School or equivalent required
  • Proficient in Blackjack and at least 1 other major game (Craps, Roulette, or Baccarat) required
  • Six months live dealing experience required
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and guests
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
  • Must be able to operate in stressful situations
  • Must be able to operate in smoke-filled environment
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds and carry 5 pounds
  • Must be able stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of casino
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke

  • Check for satisfaction and effectively resolve service breakdowns when they exist
  • Exercise appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention
  • Provide game protection by keeping visual contact of all guests and game layout, and reporting any suspicious activity to the immediate supervisor
  • Promote Caesars Rewards programs and card membership
  • Create an atmosphere of luck and celebrates guest’s wins
  • Provide a warm farewell and thanks guests for visiting
  • Delight our guests with outstanding service
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
