Summer 2027 Electrical Engineering Internships

BNH•White Sands, NM
•$22 - $30•Onsite

About The Position

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) offers a 12-week, full-time summer internship for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering and computer science-related disciplines. Interns are paired with experienced engineers and scientists who mentor them as they complete real engineering or technical assignments that contribute to Air Force and contractor missions. Interns work on multiple tasks to gain exposure to the variety of work at AEDC and must present a briefing to management about what they learned and accomplished during the summer. The role supports the infrastructure used to test flight, defense, and aerospace systems in ground test facilities. This infrastructure includes electric motors, compressors, hydraulic and refrigeration systems, heaters, dryers, power systems, measurement and data acquisition systems, and control systems. The position concerns the systems that enable ground testing, rather than the design or analysis of the vehicles being tested. The internship is based at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. It requires 40 hours of work each week for 12 weeks from May to August. This is a temporary position; vacation does not accrue. U.S. citizenship is required, and interns must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
