About The Position
Salas O’Brien is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Houston, Texas. The internship offers practical experience and the opportunity to contribute to significant projects in a supportive environment. The intern will learn basic electrical design engineering principles, collaborate with experienced engineers and specialists, gain exposure to different project types and markets, and see the lifecycle of a construction project from design through construction. The role also provides opportunities to develop proficiency with industry-standard software. Limited travel is required, and duties may be performed onsite or at project locations as needed.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Architectural, or a related Engineering field.
- Genuine interest in the AEC industry, particularly electrical system design, and a desire to learn and contribute to projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks.
- Readiness to perform duties onsite or at project locations as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity or proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Understanding of engineering analysis tools.
