About The Position

This position is an Engineering Technician I located in the District 2/Resident Office or District 2/Construction Office. It involves technical work supporting technicians and engineers in construction inspection, guardrail inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. The position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping. Safety toe shoes are required.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in record keeping
Ability to perform a full range of calculations and computations

Nice To Haves

Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems
Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
Knowledge of standards and specifications
Plan reading experience
Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, iPad and software
At least two years of related experience
