About The Position

EP² provides power management systems for commercial and utility industries involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Engineering Support Associate supports Project Managers and Engineering in serving customers and internal functional departments, and performs a variety of project tasks while supporting the fabrication department from start to finish. The position is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and reports to the Engineering Support Supervisor.

The role includes quality-control checks on engineering documents; producing labels, wire markers, nameplates, and cable tags; printing and organizing drawings and blueprints for production; using CAD software to create and update technical drawings; operating and maintaining laser engraving machines; performing document-control duties; and scanning and organizing records and files.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Windows-based computers, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
• Ability to learn new skills and work in a team setting.
• Ability to perform office tasks such as printing, scanning, and organizing paperwork.
• Beginner-level knowledge of AutoCAD for basic 2D drafting tasks.
• Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions.

• Post-high-school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control checks on wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and other engineer-produced documents.
• Produce labels, wire markers, nameplates, and cable tags for the production shop using industrial label printers.
• Print, review, and organize drawings and blueprints for the production shop.
• Use CAD software such as AutoCAD to create and update technical drawings and plans.
• Run and maintain laser engraving machines to produce placards and nameplates.
• Perform document-control tasks, including stamping and folding drawings, archiving data, and managing revisions.
• Scan drawings and organize files and folders on the company network.
• Support Project Managers, Engineering, customers, internal functional departments, and the fabrication department.
