About The Position

The Engineering Supervisor assists in leading the daily maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel. This role supports the engineering team, ensures proper completion of preventive maintenance tasks, and responds to repairs throughout the property. The Engineering Supervisor helps maintain building systems, upholds safety standards, and ensures that facilities remain clean, safe, and fully operational for guests and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building.
  • Strong background in building systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
  • Ability to lead and train maintenance staff.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire/life safety codes, and building compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/work order systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.
  • EPA, CPO, or HVAC certifications a plus.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily supervision of the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Assign, monitor, and inspect work orders to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to guestroom and public area maintenance requests.
  • Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Support inventory management of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Assist in coordinating contracted services, inspections, and vendor repairs.
  • Ensure all engineering areas, mechanical rooms, and workshops remain clean, safe, and organized.
  • Maintain accurate records including PM logs, work orders, compliance documents, and safety inspections.
  • Support safety programs and ensure adherence to OSHA and fire/life safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff.
  • Assist with training new engineering team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership.
