About The Position
MDA Space is a global leader in the space industry, specializing in robotics, satellite systems, and geointelligence. With a history of over 450 missions and more than 3,000 experts across Canada, the US, and the UK, MDA Space is dedicated to turning ambitious customer visions into achievable missions. The company is seeking a motivated and talented Engineering student in Mechanical Engineering for a 4 or 8-month internship at their Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office, starting in September 2026. The intern will work on tasks similar to a new graduate, integrating into a team focused on antenna design, payload design, electronics packaging design, or tooling, under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.
Requirements
- Having completed a second year in the bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program including a course in 3D modelling
- Dynamic, communicative and has a desire to learn
- A person who takes initiative and is proactive
Nice To Haves
- Having completed the third year in a Mechanical Engineering bachelor
- Having experience in 3D modelling and drawings and previous technical internships
- Having a GPA greater than 3.0/4.0
Responsibilities
- Mechanical design following a training on CAD using Siemens Nx software and an introduction to geometric tolerancing
- Creation of 3D CAD models with associated drawings and documentation
- Participation in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
- Creation of mass budgets and parts lists as well as support to purchasing and manufacturing activities
