About The Position

CSCI Consulting is looking for an Engineering Service Lead to support our Federal client. In this role, the consultant will provide enterprise-level technical leadership across architecture, engineering, and modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with Zero Trust principles, federal security requirements, and organizational strategic objectives. The Engineering Services Lead collaborates with operational teams to deliver scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions while maintaining separation from day-to-day operational support functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in engineering, architecture, or advanced technical roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level IT engineering or architecture efforts
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure), enterprise infrastructure, and hybrid environments
  • Experience with identity and access management, Zero Trust architecture, and security frameworks (NIST, FISMA)
  • Hands-on experience with system design, architecture development, and technical documentation
  • Experience supporting Change Management processes (ERB/CCB) and governance frameworks
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop engineering-based solutions for complex issues
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership
  • Eligibility to obtain required federal clearance (Public Trust or Secret as applicable)
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, ITIL v4, TOGAF)
  • Experience with ServiceNow integration across ITSM processes
  • Familiarity with network and security technologies (Palo Alto, Zscaler, Aruba)
  • Experience in federal IT environments with compliance and audit requirements
  • Background in automation, DevOps, or infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Experience leading modernization or digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive engineering improvements
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering efforts focused on architecture, modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture designs and technical roadmaps aligned to DFC strategic objectives
  • Provide technical oversight for solution design, ensuring scalability, security, and operational readiness
  • Support modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, automation, and reduction of technical debt
  • Ensure all engineering activities align with DFC Zero Trust architecture principles and security requirements
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex or recurring incidents and develop long-term remediation strategies
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure, Network, ITSM, and Service Desk teams to ensure seamless integration and solution supportability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and runbooks
  • Lead design reviews, architecture reviews, and technical governance activities in support of ERB/CCB processes
  • Support development of technical standards and reference architectures across enterprise systems
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying emerging technologies and proposing enhancements
  • Ensure successful transition of engineered solutions into operations through structured knowledge transfer and readiness reviews
  • Support engineering contributions to COOP/DR strategies and enterprise resilience planning
  • Provide reporting on engineering activities, risks, and progress toward modernization goals
