About The Position

Imagine what you can do here. Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn’t have imagined, and now, can’t imagine living without. It’s the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item. Support the development of the key aspects of existing and future Apple Watch components, modules and systems by leveraging industrial engineering analytical and design skills. Utilize background in mechanical design, experience with design, cameras, sensors (magnetometers, IMUs, capacitive, etc), PCBs and flexes, silicon, antennas, batteries, thermals, to drive issues to conclusion. Work closely with all cross functional validation teams to identify electro-mechanical design tradeoffs, confirm with testing, and implement solutions (eg. sensor locations). Collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering, operations, industrial design, and vendor partners to meet aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals. Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs. Drive closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision-making to meet overall project objectives. Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top level objectives and develop a better course of action. Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift. Create and maintain detailed project schedules for key enclosure and mechanical components, respond quickly to changes. Understand system-level part interactions, manage a plan to provide key combinations into reliability testing to validate system performance. Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing. Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management. 40 hours/week.
