About The Position

The Engineering Operations Specialist - Continuous Improvement is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements across operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance. This role combines analytical expertise with hands-on problem-solving to drive operational excellence. The position will oversee Ethicon Operations, located in San Lorenzo.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment and area assessments according to JLL procedures - Facility Condition Assessment (FCA).
  • Conduct field audits based on work order execution and operational performance.
  • Develop comprehensive equipment spare parts lists to ensure maintenance readiness.
  • Implement Engineering Controls to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) optimization to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Drive Good Saves investigations and ensure timely closures.
  • Complete work order revision and closures to maintain accurate records and accountability.
  • Monitor and support Key Performance Indicator (KPI) adherence, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and recovery plans.
  • Support actions to achieve Glidepath savings and cost reduction targets.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current operational processes and workflows.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement across operations.
  • Support mapping of current state processes and design future state processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to automate manual processes.
  • Assess current technology stack and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects from inception to completion.
  • Facilitate workshops and improvement sessions to engage teams in problem-solving.
  • Support Continuous Improvement (CI) culture to achieve 100% Small Step Better (SSB) participation.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities to identify and address systemic issues.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership with data-driven insights.
  • Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process guides.
  • Create job plans for routine and complex maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of process improvements, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Ensure all documentation is current, accessible, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Train staff in new processes and procedures to ensure successful adoption.
  • Provide Technology Training: Educate teams on new systems and tools.
  • Build management capabilities within the team to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and reference guides to support ongoing learning.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned to meet evolving business needs and operational requirements.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects as directed by management.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures and business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
