About The Position

At Advance CNC Machining, we are a growing company of over 50 team members committed to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of engineers, embodying accountability and humility. The Engineering Manager will serve as both a strategist and a mentor, guiding the engineering team and collaborating across the business to create custom deliverables that exceed expectations. The company is a growing $15 million company experiencing rapidly rising demand.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of combined experience in design engineering
  • Deep understanding of machining and related manufacturing processes
  • Experience leading and mentoring direct reports
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing design or production challenges
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills including the ability to hold others accountable
  • Ability to guide engineers through concept development, 3D modeling, prints, tolerances, and manufacturability reviews
  • A mindset focused on efficiency, quality improvement, and cost savings
  • Demonstrated SolidWorks experience and fluency
  • Successful pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of mechanical engineers
  • Leading performance management, including goal setting, feedback, and professional growth planning
  • Optimizing engineering workflows to increase throughput, reduce waste, and streamline handoffs with production teams
  • Troubleshooting design issues with an analytical, solutions-oriented approach
  • Owning the Engineering group’s performance indicators and budget
