About The Position

Jabil is seeking a collaborative, technically experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, release, configuration, and lifecycle management of complex power, cooling, and data center infrastructure products. The team includes experienced and lead-level contributors in mechanical design, electrical design, CAD, PLM/configuration, and related disciplines. The manager is accountable for people leadership, priorities, resource planning, and execution, partnering with technical leads who retain discipline-specific technical ownership. The role supports mature products as well as design-partner engagements where requirements, interfaces, and configurations may evolve. It requires balancing technical risk, workload, and program priorities while maintaining disciplined CAD, BOM, PLM, change-control, baselining, and release practices. The manager leads and develops the team across product development, NPI, production, and sustaining activities; sets priorities and accountability; and plans staffing, development, workload, and capacity across projects and product platforms. In collaboration with technical leads and program stakeholders, the manager establishes schedules, resource plans, and deliverables that reflect product maturity, complexity, uncertainty, and dependencies. The role facilitates design reviews and escalations, resolves cross-discipline issues, and communicates technical, schedule, and resource risks with mitigation plans. The position drives consistent engineering standards and configuration discipline for CAD models, drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, technical documentation, and PLM records. It maintains traceability among CAD structures, engineering BOMs, released documentation, and product configurations; strengthens PLM/configuration governance; and ensures disciplined ECR/ECN and change-control practices. The manager establishes reliable release practices and continually improves data quality, documentation, and workflows. The role partners with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Program Management, and Product Management to resolve design, configuration, manufacturability, and release issues. It supports prototype builds, NPI, production ramp, sustaining engineering, and significant design or field issues, including root-cause and corrective-action activities. The manager represents Design & Configuration priorities, risks, resource needs, and execution status in customer, business, and technical reviews as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another relevant technical discipline; a suitable combination of education, technical experience, and training may be considered.
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience supporting complex electromechanical, industrial, infrastructure, or similarly complex products.
  • At least 3 years of engineering leadership, people management, or responsibility for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience leading experienced engineers or technical leads across multiple priorities and lifecycle phases, including product development, NPI, production, and/or sustaining engineering.
  • Experience with design reviews, CAD/BOM alignment, PLM/configuration management, engineering change control, baselining, product release, and technical issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional experience with mechanical, electrical, program management, manufacturing, quality, and supply-chain organizations.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, communication, and cross-functional influence, including the ability to lead senior technical contributors without displacing discipline-specific ownership.
  • Broad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering interfaces and their relationship to CAD, BOMs, PLM, and configuration-controlled product data.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle, engineering change, configuration management, baselining, release, and traceability practices.
  • Ability to translate program objectives into priorities, resource plans, and deliverables; assess technical, schedule, and capacity risks; and drive mitigation and escalation.
  • Effective technical judgment in fast-moving, geographically distributed environments with evolving requirements and interfaces.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams spanning mechanical design, electrical design, CAD, and PLM/configuration, including senior engineers or technical leads.
  • Experience with critical infrastructure, data center equipment, cooling products, electrical power-distribution equipment, or similarly complex electromechanical products.
  • Familiarity with Creo and/or SolidWorks; EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, and/or Edge Electrical; and PLM/configuration-controlled engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC, UL, or related product standards.
  • Experience with NPI, global manufacturing operations, team scaling, or project/program management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across product development, NPI, production, and sustaining activities.
  • Set priorities, expectations, and accountability; manage staffing, development, workload, and capacity across projects and product platforms.
  • Partner with technical leads and program stakeholders to establish schedules, resource plans, and deliverables based on product maturity, complexity, uncertainty, and dependencies.
  • Maintain clear accountability between engineering management and discipline technical leads, with management owning people, priorities, capacity, and execution, while technical leads retain discipline-specific technical authority.
  • Facilitate design reviews and escalations, resolve cross-discipline issues, and communicate technical, schedule, and resource risks with mitigation plans.
  • Drive consistent engineering standards and configuration discipline across CAD models, drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, technical documentation, and PLM records.
  • Maintain alignment and traceability among CAD structures, engineering BOMs, released documentation, and product configurations throughout the lifecycle.
  • Strengthen PLM/configuration governance, including revision management, baselining, effectivity, lifecycle states, and release readiness.
  • Ensure ECR/ECN and change-control processes are reviewed, approved, traceable, and compatible with released configurations and production needs.
  • Establish reliable release practices from evolving engineering inputs through configuration-controlled, production-ready deliverables, and improve data quality, documentation, and engineering workflows.
  • Partner with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Program Management, and Product Management to resolve design, configuration, manufacturability, and release issues.
  • Support prototype builds, NPI, production ramp, sustaining engineering, and significant design or field issues, including root-cause and corrective-action activities.
  • Represent Design & Configuration priorities, risks, resource needs, and execution status in customer, business, and technical reviews as appropriate.
