About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories seeks an Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Support team within our growing Magnetics Components Manufacturing division. We are considering candidates from multiple disciplines with management experience. In this onsite position, you will work with an energetic engineering team responsible for on-site production support, process improvements including equipment support, machine modifications, as well as leading our external contract manufacturing cell. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing engineering teams, be highly disciplined, and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • B.S. in an engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 8+ years of related engineering or management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes.
  • Ability to manage product line and process problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and limited guidance from manager.
  • Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects.
  • Ability to define general approaches and specific solutions to technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Leading teams on discipline/technology/process, keeping quality, production, cost and performance objectives in mind.
  • Assisting in the development of long-term production and technology strategies.
  • Performing management activities to attract, hire, supervise, and develop individual contributors to meet the goals of the group.
  • Participating in external meetings and presenting at large internal meetings/forums.
  • Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
