Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
  • Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and business results.
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Possesses experience in design of electrical systems and/or wiring harnesses on machines or vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system level DMEDI/NPI activities and support DMAIC/CPI activities.
  • Gather requirements from external and internal customers, process partners, and regulatory teams.
  • Create and manage detailed design documentation (systems, software, electronics, harness, iron).
  • Drive hardware and software design requirements through the development, implementation, and validation process.
  • Coordinate with numerous process partners in Cat Technology and within the EXD product group.
  • Travel to Caterpillar proving grounds or customer sites for test support when needed.
  • Identify areas of improvement for overall product quality.
  • Develop and maintain MGPP.
  • Mentor team members and develop skills to continue to deliver impactful features for our customers.
