Netflix•Los Gatos, CA
•$436,000 - $710,000

About The Position

Netflix is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Android Player team, which owns playback in the Netflix Android app outside of the UI. This includes streaming and offline downloads, as well as the foundations for live events and ad-supported viewing. The team is deepening live and advertising capabilities, partnering with UI and product teams to make video seamless throughout the app, and working with SoC vendors and device OEMs to deliver high-quality streaming across Android devices. The manager will build and lead a diverse team of Android playback engineers, set priorities for high-impact roadmap initiatives, and balance feature delivery with foundational investment. They will hire and retain exceptional engineers, coach team members toward greater technical leadership, and work with internal and external partners. The role also owns release readiness and operational excellence for a production-critical playback path on a weekly shipping client, including on-call and live-event readiness, and calls for demonstrating Netflix’s values. The position is based on working side by side with the team and partners in Los Gatos. The stated salary range is $436,000–$710,000. Netflix describes its compensation as annual salary with a choice each year between salary and stock options, and says it does not offer bonuses. Benefits include health plans, mental health support, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, stock options, disability programs, health savings and flexible spending accounts, family-forming benefits, life and serious injury benefits, and paid leave programs. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
