About The Position

Control Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, is seeking an Engineering Manager, Building Management Systems (BMS) for its Salt Lake City, Utah team. The manager oversees Systems and Software Engineers and is responsible for identifying and executing research and development objectives, establishing organizational systems and processes that improve engineering efficiency, and training engineers and technicians. The role also includes managing BAS systems and software engineering teams, guiding strategic planning and product development, improving engineering processes and product quality, and overseeing projects from proposals and design through delivery and commissioning.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Considerable experience in BAS engineering and a proven record of managing teams and projects.
Strong knowledge of BAS platforms, protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks, and software applications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think strategically and manage multiple teams and initiatives simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
Experience with controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS, and Energy Management Systems.

Responsibilities

Supervise and guide BAS systems and software engineering teams, including assigning tasks, reviewing technical accuracy, and providing coaching and mentorship.
Work with stakeholders to establish strategic goals and objectives, and lead research and development of products, designs, and processes.
Establish and improve organizational systems and processes to increase engineering efficiency and productivity.
Seek continuous improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from proposals and design to delivery and commissioning, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate with other departments to accomplish project goals.
Develop and implement training programs for engineers and technicians on current technologies and industry trends.
Maintain technical expertise, serve as a subject matter expert, and guide the team in resolving complex problems.
