About The Position

This role provides technical and engineering support to the team, focusing on identifying and solving problems, improving efficiency, and implementing process and equipment modifications. The manager will conduct experiments, document findings, and present recommendations to management. They will also oversee the implementation of new programs, validate results, and manage related projects. Additionally, the position involves providing production support, training staff, investigating customer complaints, performing root cause analysis, and conducting equipment validations and audits. Strict adherence to Hydro HSE, quality, and productivity requirements is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a ABET accredited university.
  • >5 years’ work experience in engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in induction welded tube manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Working Knowledge of modeling software

Responsibilities

  • Support the team with technical and engineering knowledge and data.
  • Examine specific problem areas, efficiency opportunities and devise solutions.
  • Determine process and equipment modifications required to affect desired changes.
  • Conduct experiments, document results, prepare reports and make presentations to management regarding process and equipment modifications, designed to correct designated problems.
  • Implement trials of authorized programs, monitor, measure, examine, validate and report results.
  • Document programs, including procedures, timing and costs.
  • Initiate, implement permanent process changes and manage related implementation projects, working with vendors, manufacturing management and all levels of production, quality and engineering staff.
  • Provide production support through process parameter control, process design and changes.
  • Staff training as required to implement new process or equipment improvements, scrap reduction and productivity improvements.
  • Respond to and investigate customer product complaints.
  • Examine product or results of product utilization and identify specific problems.
  • Analyze the data to determine causes for problems, conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions follow up to implement or support changes.
  • Communicate results to customers and the production team.
  • Document incidents for further review and historical files.
  • Equipment validations, safety and quality audits.
  • Strict adherence to Hydro HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
