About The Position

The Engineering Manager provides engineering, design, and drafting for assigned projects. The role supervises and performs engineering studies and analyses on utility systems, prepares engineering solutions to mitigate system risk, and optimizes system investment. The position supports transmission-line projects involving the design, construction, maintenance, and upgrades of high-voltage infrastructure, with a focus on safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering and extensive experience in high-voltage infrastructure projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
10 or more years of industry experience.
Knowledge of various codes and standards.
Ability to make sound business and financial judgments and quick decisions.
Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles, including researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Provide technical supervision and oversee the quality of team deliverables.
Stay abreast of codes and standards to ensure compliance.
Plan and coordinate pole loading.
Define the plan of control.
Direct and supervise junior engineers.
Provide detailed engineering, design, and planning assessments and recommendations.
Evaluate system operations and develop project scopes for overhead and underground utility systems.
Plan, develop, and coordinate engineering studies for projects involving complex engineering solutions to address system risk, reliability, and capacity limitations.
Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned.
