About the position
As an Engineering Manager, Quality Assurance at MNTN, you will be responsible for driving the quality of our customer-facing products to a world-class level. You will manage a team of quality assurance engineers and software development engineers in test, and focus on continuous quality improvements through automation and measuring success using various quality metrics and methodologies. Your role will involve diving deep into system design and architecture, developing test plans, and mentoring product and quality engineers. Additionally, you will work with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements, and develop the right QA approaches to deliver results. Expertise in SQL, Postgres, Big Data, and ETLs is a must for this role.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement testing strategy for customer-facing products
- Manage a team of quality assurance engineers and software development engineers in test
- Drive continuous quality improvements through automation and measuring success using quality metrics and methodologies
- Dive deep into system design and architecture
- Develop test plans and mentor product and quality engineers
- Insist on high standards for quality
- Create world-class automation infrastructure using the latest technologies and productivity tools
- Work with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
- Develop QA approaches to deliver results with bias for action
- Own and drive data integrity and ETL pipelines test automation infrastructure
- Drive the strategy for automation tools or scripts to improve product and engineering health
- Deliver test plans based on Product Excellence/test strategies
- Guide the test framework, test preconditions, and other test control and reporting functions
- Improve existing test infrastructure or create new test infrastructure to increase efficiency and productivity
- Lead product design reviews with stakeholders to contribute to product design, testability, and implementation
- Have expertise and proficiency in SQL, Postgres, Big Data, and ETLs
- Have experience in building and scaling quality assurance teams
- Have experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging
- Have experience working in a fast-paced and complex, matrixed organization
- Provide technical leadership and lead projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building and scaling quality assurance team(s)
- 8+ years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging
- 5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced and complex, matrixed organization
- 4+ years of experience providing technical leadership and leading projects (e.g., test, release, etc.)
- Expertise and proficiency in SQL, Postgres, Big Data, and ETLs
- Ability to create and implement testing strategy for customer-facing products
- Experience in managing a team of quality assurance engineers and software development engineers in test
- Obsession with continuous quality improvements through automation and measuring success using quality metrics and methodologies
- Strong understanding of system design and architecture
- Ability to develop test plans and mentor product and quality engineers
- Commitment to creating world-class automation infrastructure using the latest technologies
- Proficiency in using productivity tools to bring efficiency and effectiveness to quality processes and testing cycles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with business and development teams
- Ability to understand product vision and requirements and develop appropriate QA approaches
- Knowledge of ETL pipelines and data integrity testing
- Experience in driving the strategy for automation tools or scripts to improve product and engineering health
- Ability to lead product design reviews and contribute to product design, testability, and implementation.
