About The Position

Nebius is hiring an Engineering Manager for Network Infrastructure to own delivery of network infrastructure initiatives in the US. The role is intended for an experienced engineer who has built, operated, and recovered production systems and can earn the trust of SREs, software engineers, network engineers, and security and platform teams. During the early stage of US expansion, the manager will work hands-on with a high degree of independence from European teams, including reviewing designs, participating in incidents, and writing code or automation as needed. The scope is expected to grow as the organization expands. The manager will lead important cross-team initiatives from problem definition through execution and adoption. This includes defining scope and success criteria, aligning owners, surfacing risks, driving decisions, tracking dependencies, and ensuring initiatives deliver useful outcomes. Success includes making tools and workflows trusted and routinely used, with actionable alerts, practical runbooks, and effective feedback loops. The position requires sufficient technical depth to assess trade-offs, review design documents and proposals, identify missing assumptions and failure modes, and help turn ambiguous problems into executable plans. The manager will help shape a growing network infrastructure organization and its automation, observability, reliability standards, provisioning flows, operational safety, and cross-site consistency. Nebius describes itself as a cloud infrastructure company building a full-stack AI cloud platform for developers and enterprises. It is listed on Nasdaq, headquartered in Amsterdam, and has a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America, and Israel. The company reports a team of more than 1,500 people, including hundreds of engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in software, SRE, network, or infrastructure engineering, including experience leading cross-team technical initiatives.
  • A practical engineering background building and operating production systems, with the ability to earn the trust of deeply technical teams.
  • Ability to read design documents and technical proposals, understand trade-offs, and ask incisive questions about reliability, rollback, blast radius, and failure modes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure fundamentals, including Linux, networking, automation, and CI/CD, sufficient to participate in technical discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive decisions and create clarity in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including documenting plans and decisions and influencing technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in an early-stage environment and build processes from scratch.
  • Professional working proficiency in spoken and written English and comfort working across time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with network infrastructure, such as network automation, observability, or network device lifecycle management.
  • Experience with SLO/SLI frameworks, incident management, or production readiness processes.
  • Experience with CI/CD or change management for network or other high-blast-radius infrastructure.
  • Experience building a team from scratch or launching a new engineering hub.
  • Experience with secrets and access management, firmware rollout, or fleet-wide operational initiatives.
  • Hands-on engineering contributions such as code, tooling, or automation alongside management work.
  • Knowledge of the US network landscape, including carriers, internet exchanges, regional connectivity, and regulatory specifics.

Responsibilities

  • Set engineering standards for code quality, design reviews, on-call and incident management practices, and operations.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of cross-team network infrastructure initiatives in the US, from an initial problem statement through planning and adoption.
  • Define project scope and success criteria, align owners across SRE, software engineering, networking, security, platform, and data center teams, and drive decisions to closure.
  • Review designs and technical proposals; challenge assumptions and surface failure modes, dependencies, and risks early.
  • Stay hands-on when needed by participating in incidents, writing code or automation, and unblocking the team.
  • Drive adoption of tools and workflows, including documentation, runbooks, and feedback loops.
  • Keep stakeholders, including European teams, informed through clear and honest status updates, and coordinate across time zones.
  • Translate operational pain and engineering input into a clear, prioritized backlog.

  • Competitive compensation
  • Career growth and learning opportunities
  • Flexibility and ownership
  • Collaborative and innovative culture
